Asians in YouTube

Some Asians are making their name in the World Wide Web. Thanks to You Tube, a popular video sharing community, they were able to broadcast their selves online. Today, I will list some of the popular Asians in You Tube. They are sorted according to number of subscribers:

Niga Higa 1. Niga Higa. Ryan Higa became popular because of his music videos with his friend Sean Fujiyoshi. In the early months of his broadcast, Ryan imitates popular songs with his friend Sean by means of lip-syncing and exaggerated body movements. In the latter months, he made some rants about people with peculiar mannerism and he also made some tutorials like “How to be an Emo” and “How to be a Gangster.” Today, Niga Higa makes music videos by changing the lyrics of the popular songs and sometimes he talks about his personal life.

Kev Jumba 2. KevJumba. KevJumba or Kevin Wu is known for his funny videos. He uses hand movements in his videos to persuade the viewers and before his talks, he do lip-sync like Niga Higa. He discusses interesting topics and sometimes he talks about his personal life. KevJumba became number one most subscribed channel for all time but he was replaced by some American director followed by Niga Higa.

Happy Slip 3. HappySlip. Christine Gambito or Happy Slip is a beautiful Filipina who made her stardom in YouTube. Doing a variety of videos, Happy Slip is indeed a talented lady. She knows how to play the piano, she plays the guitar and she sings with a melodious voice. She is a one woman production. In her soap opera, she plays the entire role and sometimes she goes out to make a video with Kev Jumba or David Choi.

The Wine Kone 4. The Wine Kone. The Wine Kone is a geek known for his lengthy videos and special effects. According to him, he won the 2006 YouTube Video Awards for Best Commentary because of those people who mistakenly voted for him by misplaced clicks.

David Choi 5. David Choi. David Choi is a Korean acoustic guitar player who became popular because of his You Tube Song. David doesn’t smile in his videos, a trademark he established for himself. Sometimes he also talks about his personal life and his recent videos show himself opening the packages from his fans.

MRirian 6. MRirian. MRirian or Magi or Magibon is a 21-year-old Japanese girl who likes reading, baking, watching Japanese dramas, listening to music and nature. She rarely speaks in her videos and if she does, the language is Japanese. Because she’s cute and sexy, her videos receive millions of view counts even though she’s mute.
